This month is a time to anchor ourselves amidst the intensity, to find space to process all that’s happened since the planet plunged into turmoil last month. This won’t be the easiest mission to tackle, and it will require some self-discipline. The year has been filled with non-stop change, from Saturn’s move into Pisces, Pluto’s pivot between Capricorn and Aquarius, Venus retrograde and October’s eclipse season.
It will be all too easy to go to extremes in November 2023, especially during the first three weeks. The Sun and Mars are both traveling through Scorpio until November 22 and 24, respectively. This combustible combination is great for focus but can exacerbate the tunnel vision that’s fragmented so much of the world this year. November’s astro-vibe is all about choosing “Yes” by deciding what is a firm “No”. The duality of Scorpio season to minimize and Sagittarius energy to maximize is balanced by Saturn in Pisces’s gatekeeping. Be grateful for this watchman, because Saturn turns away all the over-thinking, and over-committing energy of Sagittarius as Mercury, the Sun, and Mars enter this sign. While many of us tend to be afraid of Saturn’s contractive influence, this planet will help us to integrate and focus on what is just right for us and our soul’s purpose this November.
Structured Saturn, the cosmic “adult in the room”, rouses from a nearly five-month retrograde on November 4. As the ringed taskmaster powers forward in Pisces, our compassion and desire for healing awakens again too. Information that’s been obscured or hidden can come into plain sight. Order may start to replace chaos, at least some of it. Will the empathic leaders please stand up? We need you.
Venus moves into Libra on November 8, more inclined to seek balance in our personal environment. This cycle is excellent for promoting cooperation, harmony, mutually beneficial connections, and fairness. We are gentle but firm, and we’re skilled at mediation. We’re more likely to prosper during this cycle in partnership, through one-to-one associations, such as counseling, or in fields related to harmony, relationships, beauty, design, and the law. We’re not fond of out-and-out competition or aggressive pursuit, preferring win-win situations hands down. We attract things to us and appeal to others gently and kindly. Equality and politeness are important now, and we despise hurting others’ feelings.
Mercury enters Sagittarius on November 10. This energy is honest to the point of bluntness. Be prepared that when you ask a question you may get more than you bargained for. Whether in our personal or professional life we need to be careful and cautious as to not get burned by this sometimes overly optimistic fire sign. Our thinking shifts during this period from a need to plumb the depths of any given situation to the desire to learn about a wide range of topics. Ideals are sought, our thinking is more optimistic, and our faith increases. We are more equipped to believe and to persuade. What is fair and unfair concerns us most now. However, we are not always very precise under this influence.
Uranus, the planet of surprises and freedom, will be activated all month. This means that in order to set off on new paths, we will need to be willing to shift and change our perspectives and approach. Uranus’ influence will be activated during the first half of the month, reaching climax during this month’s New Moon in Scorpio. Arriving on November 13 this New Moon features a total of four planetary bodies in Scorpio, opposing Uranus. This is the first lunation after eclipse season, and so we are now bound to really feel how our lives and priorities have shifted since early September. Planting the seeds of intention now feels right, but we must do it in a way that leaves room for creative, radical shifts. Ask yourself: How can my work truly stand out, while also having a true impact on my community? Stay the course on these goals, as you could really see them evolve at a rapid speed and culminate by the time the Full Moon in Scorpio arrives, on April 23, 2024.
The Sun shifts into Sagittarius on November 22, helping us all see the bigger picture. Normally a fun and festive time, Sagittarius season 2023 will be very different due to Saturn’s current journey in Pisces. Instead of accepting those party invitations, some of us might decide to stay home to work on those lofty goals and launches for 2024. Mars joins the Archer’s domain on November 24, staying for the rest of the year until January 24. With the bold Sun and activating Mars in this global, multicultural sign, we’ll lean into Sagittarian optimism and hope.
Thanksgiving weekend will find Saturn in Pisces a challenging square to the Sun and Mars. Politics could easily infiltrate the dinner table, fragmenting family gatherings like it was 2016. You may need to put up some firm Saturn-approved boundaries to direct the conversation toward whatever semblance of mutual respect and tolerance can be forged.
The month comes to a close with the Full Moon in Gemini, on November 27. Forming a mutable Grand cross between the Moon in Gemini, the Sun and Mars in Sagittarius, and Saturn in Pisces, this Full Moon is intense! Both collectively and personally, we will have to juggle situations full of contradictions, needing to find a middle ground between many differences of opinions.
As we move into December, the sky sends the clear message that if we’re going to build a better future together, we must open our minds to accept what others have to say. In the end, these are the highest vibration teachings of all mutable signs. Are you ready to let other people’s perspectives in?
