From March 4th to April 15th, the planet of love and beauty will be retrograde. This is the planet we love to love because it represents all the niceties of life. When Venus moves retrograde, it is a time to re-evaluate what makes us happy and what our priorities are. What we value now may be very different from what we felt was of utmost priority last year or even yesterday. This is a time to take stock of our priorities and decide where we might want to reorganize. Venus is also associated with money. Revisit your financial situation and examine where your assets are situated and if necessary, restructure your financial game plan.
You will find that discrimination is more effective. You become readily aware of any problems, differences or unresolved issues. This is not the time however, to act upon any unfavorable awareness. It is purely a time of evaluation. As little frictions and disagreements crop up, they serve to remind you that the relationship is not perfect. Under the retrograde influence, you must assess the severity of the problem and the “cost-benefit” of the relationship. Only after Venus turns direct should you initiate any action deemed necessary.
For the first half of this cycle, Venus is the sign of Aries and is not considered to be well placed here. Ideally Venus represents the selfless kind of love. This does not jive with Mars ruled Aries “me first” energy. To love one another, we do ultimately love ourselves. But Venus in Aries can develop into narcissism, so keep all that self-love in proportion.
Things change when Venus enters Pisces on April 2nd. Venus is exalted in Pisces, which means Pisces compliments Venus' nature so its energy is magnified. Venus in Pisces is loving, compassionate and creative. This is a time to revise your ideals and to go deep and recognize the differences between a crush and real love. Doing this inner work will help you take a new direction after Venus turns direct.
Here are a few things to contemplate while Venus is retrograde:
1. Do I really appreciate who I am?
2. What is really worth fighting for in love?
3. Does my relationship support me as an individual?
4. Am I being realistic in my love-life goals?
5. Am I being fiscally responsible?
6. Do I take my spouse/partner for granted?
